CHRIS BURDEN - TRANS-FIXED TRIBUTE (LONG SLEEVE)
$45.00 On sale

I didn't really intend to make a Chris Burden shirt paying tribute to his piece "Trans-Fixed" but I was going through some old magazines and found a write up on it. I've always been a big fan of his work and the doc that came out a couple years after his death was just so amazing. For those that aren't familiar, Chris Burden was best know for his performative work in the early 70s but was not just limited to that. His piece "Shoot" from 1971 had the art world hysterical when he had a friend shoot him in the arm in the setting of a gallery thus forcing the audience to see it as a form of art. He was always pushing the boundaries of art so it was only right to pay tribute to another important piece, "Trans-Fixed." Chris had one of his assistants drive nails into his hands (in a christ like pose) and into a VW bug that would come out of garage for 2 minutes with the engine roaring and then drive back into the garage. He only invited a small group of friends to witness / document this piece and nobody had any clue what Chris was about to do. Thanks for reading lol! These are printed on 100% 6.1oz cotton white long sleeve shirts. Please allow 2-6 weeks for delivery! Thanks!
